It depends on the area of Birmingham. Like all cities, it has crime, and it has rougher areas.
Birmingham University is in Selly Oak/ Harborne, which is quite a nice area. It has crime because it has students- the average student owns a lot of expensive stuff, and this makes them targets.
Birmingham City university is in Perry Barr, which is quite a rough area. I lived in Perry Barr for 4 years, and I had one attempted break in (someone tried to crowbar open our windows and doors), one break in (they kicked in the front door and nicked a load of stuff) and someone came into my kitchen and pulled a knife on my housemate. _________________ facebook fans |
